Caitlin Clark and the Indiana Fever take on the Chicago Sky. Our WNBA odds series has our Fever Sky prediction, odds, and pick. Find out how to watch Fever Sky.

When did the Indiana Fever's season take a significant and sharp turn for the better? It happened on the first day of June — a Saturday — in Indianapolis. Indiana beat the Chicago Sky by one point in a hard-fought game. The Fever went through a very difficult and demanding game against a motivated opponent. At the time, Indiana had only one win on the season. The Fever were 1-8 entering that game. They had not yet won a game at home. They didn't trust themselves. They were stumbling around in the dark. After pulling that game out of the fire, however, the Fever banded together, found a new strength and chemistry on the court, and began to stack some wins together. The Fever have now won six of their last eight dating back to that June 1 win over the Sky. Two of the six wins have come against the Sky. Caitlin Clark beating Angel Reese has motivated both Clark herself and her teammates at large. This has instantly become a spicy and interesting rivalry, and the Fever have owned it. It will be fascinating to see if the Sky can punch back against the Fever, who have passed Chicago in the standings. If the season ended before Sunday's game in Chicago, Indiana would be in the WNBA playoffs, half a game in front of the Sky. We will see if the Sky can change their season with a win over the Fever, three weeks after the Fever turned things around with a win over the Sky.

Why The Fever Can Cover The Spread/Win

The Fever are a dramatically different team from what we saw earlier in the season. Everyone on this team is defending hard, competing well, and becoming less of a liability at both ends of the floor. The Fever have become a better team in the last five minutes of regulation. They were horrible in the final minutes of games when they started the season 1-8. They have been a lot better in their most recent set of eight games. One of the opponents the Fever have mastered is Chicago, which has been empirically worse than Indiana in the month of June and is having the kinds of problems the Fever can relate to. Chicago just doesn't have a complete roster. More is needed to make this team more dangerous and threatening. The Sky don't have many good pure shooters. They are therefore easy to defend and don't have a Plan B against their opponents. Caitlin Clark loves playing in this game, knowing the Fever have more offensive weapons than the Sky. It's hard to bet against the Fever when they play one of the lower-tier teams in the WNBA. Indiana has been winning the games it is supposed to win, and this game qualifies as one such example.

Why The Sky Can Cover The Spread/Win

You know the Fever are sick and tired of losing to the Fever and having to hear about the Caitlin Clark-Angel Reese narratives. Expect the Sky to be fired up for this game and produce one of their best defensive efforts of the season.
