The Vancouver Canucks are making a spirited last push for a spot in the 2022 Stanley Cup Playoffs. They increased their hopes with a thrilling 5-4 overtime victory against the Vegas Golden Knights Tuesday night at home. After the game, Canucks head coach Bruce Boudreau made a hilarious remark in explaining how the topsy-turvy contest made him feel.

“I was telling the guys in there, ‘Have you ever seen the old Bugs Bunny cartoons when he sees another bunny that's really pretty and the red heart keeps coming out of your chest?' I felt like that in the third period,” Boudreau said.

The Canucks had a 3-1 lead entering the third period, but the Golden Knights found the back of the net twice while keeping Vancouver scoreless in the final frame of regulation to send the game to overtime. Defenseman Quinn Hughes saved the day for the Canucks, as he struck in OT to extend his team's win streak to four games.

Vancouver is still five points away from the second wild-card spot in the Western Conference with just eight games remaining in the regular season. That said, the Canucks can keep it going this Thursday at home when they welcome the going-nowhere Arizona Coyotes.
