It seems like Kenyan Drake has finally found a home. Drake, who spent the first three-and-a-half years of his NFL career with the Miami Dolphins before being traded to the Arizona Cardinals ahead of the Week 8 trade deadline in October, is happy that the Dolphins moved on from him.

“I feel like at the end of the day, [the Dolphins] had a plan of how they wanted to go in a direction,” Drake said, according to Adam Beasley of The Miami Herald. “I feel like I didn’t fit in that plan. I just feel like when they put in a specific role, just playing third down, or coming out and being a receiving back. I felt like I could run and be a little bit more productive.”

And that he did.

After rushing for just 174 yards in six games in Miami this season, Drake totaled 643 yards and eight touchdowns on the ground in Arizona, averaging a hefty 5.2 yards per carry.

It should be noted that Drake is set to be a free agent in March, but he seems intent on staying with the Cardinals.

“I got a lot of touches [in Arizona],” Drake said. “I was able to be out on the field and impact on a lot of different levels. I just felt like I was able to go out there and play free without constraints, being in a specific role.”

The 26-year-old, who played his collegiate football at the University of Alabama, was originally selected by the Dolphins in the third round (73rd pick overall) of the 2016 NFL Draft.
