On Sunday afternoon, the Arizona Cardinals improved to 2-8 on the 2023-24 NFL season with a narrow 25-23 home win over the Atlanta Falcons. The game marked the return of star Cardinals quarterback Kyler Murray, who missed much of last season and all of this season up to this point with an ACL injury, and although there were a few signs of rust on Sunday, for the most part, Murray looked very much like his old self in the win over the Falcons.

The victory was not a walk in the park for Arizona, who found themselves trailing by one late in the contest following a touchdown from Falcons quarterback Desmond Ridder. On the ensuing Cardinals drive, Arizona found themselves facing a third down and ten situation, with the game essentially hanging in the balance. On that down, Kyler Murray faced immense pressure from the Falcons defense; however, he was able to use his signature speed and agility to evade multiple Atlanta defenders and scramble all the way across midfield to pick up a first down.

The epic play put the Cardinals on the fringes of field goal range for kicker Matt Prater; however, they would get much closer with another great play by Murray in the form of a deep completion, finding a seam in the Falcons defense to allow Matt Prater to win the game with a field goal as time expired.

Although the Cardinals may not have much to play for at this point of the season, it was still great to see Murray back in action on Sunday.
