The Boston Celtics saw their 2018-19 season come to a disappointing end on Wednesday night, as they were defeated by the Milwaukee Bucks in their second-round series by a tally of four games to one. And though this campaign didn't go as planned, Al Horford wanted to thank Celtics fans for their continued support:

Horford and the Celtics managed to sweep the Indiana Pacers in their first-round series. However, the Bucks, who finished the regular season with the best record in the NBA (60-22), gave Boston all they could handle in the semifinal round.

The Celtics tried to clamp down on Giannis Antetokounmpo in Game 5, but that strategy left other Bucks players open. In fact, seven Milwaukee players finished with double-digit scoring figures, including Khris Middleton (19), Eric Bledsoe (18) and George Hill (16).

Horford played well for the Celtics in the playoffs. Through nine postseason games, the former No. 3 overall pick racked up averages of 13.9 points on 41.8 percent shooting from the field (40.9 percent from beyond the arc), 9.0 rebounds, 4.4 assists and just under one block (0.8) in 34.4 minutes per outing.

Still, Horford was definitely disappointed by how things played out:

“Not what we expected,” Horford told ESPN after Game 5. “Just disappointing for us. At the end of the day, really, you have to give Milwaukee credit. They're just a better team than us. That's a reality.”

Now, with this season officially in the books, the Celtics will prepare for a period of uncertainty. Will the roster look the same next season, or will there be new faces in Beantown?
