Although Kyrie Irving’s addition to the Boston Celtics is not yet finalized, as there’s a possibility that the Cleveland Cavaliers may still ask for additional assets, a lot of the team’s fans are already looking forward to seeing him represent the storied franchise. They have also started thinking ahead on how much success they can reach with the four-time All-Star point, with others even thinking they can win it all with him in their fold.

Even the team's co-owner, Wyc Grousbeck, made it known that he thinks highly of Irving during a recent interview with A. Sherrod Blakely of CSNNE. He said he believes he can make a big difference for the C's, and talked about how excited he is to see him play alongside their other key players.

“He’s a transcendent player,” Grousbeck told reporters, referring to Irving. “We are excited to put him together with Gordon Hayward, Al Horford, Marcus Smart.”

“We want this team to go for Banner 18,” he said. “We need to get the best possible players. That’s what we’re trying to do.”

There are some who think that the Celtics are giving up too much in exchange for one player, but Irving is certainly not just any ordinary one, as he has a ton of playoff and Finals experience, and also an NBA champion. While Isaiah Thomas and Jae Crowder are also proven players in their own rights, it's also very understandable why the Celtics front office pulled the trigger on the deal, as it's not every day a chance of adding a player of Irving's caliber comes their way.

Should Irving indeed land in Boston in the coming days, he will be expected to play a huge role for the Beantown team, and even be their focal point on offense. It could also be his opportunity to further establish himself as one of the best players in the league, and live up to expectations by leading the Celtics to another championship.
