Boston Celtics forward Gordon Hayward is expected to miss the next four weeks of action after suffering a Grade III sprain of his right ankle during the fourth quarter of last Monday’s game against the Philadelphia 76ers.

How do we know this? I’m glad you asked. Boston’s official Twitter account sent out the information to the masses on the mean streets of social media.

Obviously, given how the NBA Playoffs are normally structured, but especially in this tightened Disney Bubble format, losing Gordon Hayward for a full month is a monster deal for the famed Boston Celtics.

The silver lining in this otherwise gloomy cloud? Jaylen Brown is playing like a beast, and Brad Stevens has depth at the forward positions. While it’s never ideal to lose a player the caliber of Hayward, this could be worse.

Time will tell just how much this matters. The Celtics still need to get out of the first round of the NBA Playoffs before guess-work can happen about a potentially earlier-than-expected return. Until then, ClutchPoints will keep you posted as more information rises to the surface like a Phoenix from the ashes.

The Celtics won Game 1 of the series, now obviously leading it 1-0.
