The Boston Celtics' chemistry this season has been excellent so far and a big reason why is the leadership of point guard Kemba Walker.
Walker is doing everything he can to make sure the Celtics are co-existing on and off the court. The All-Star point guard has been vocal on the court and, when the games are done, been active in setting up group hangouts.
According to Celtics rookie Romeo Langford, Walker set up a New Year's Eve party after the team got back from Charlotte:
The Celtics are very fortunate they were able to replace Kyrie Irving with Walker, who is looking forward to going on a deep playoff run in Boston, something he was never able to accomplish with the Charlotte Hornets.
Walker is one of the best slashers and finishers in the league and he has been commanding heavy traffic around him on his drives to the basket, which has freed up his teammates for open looks.
In 30 games this season for the Celtics, Walker is averaging 22.5 points, 3.9 rebounds and 5.2 assists. The three-time All-Star is shooting 43.2 percent from the field, 39.8 percent from beyond the arc and 87.4 percent from the free-throw line.
The Celtics are 23-8 on the season and appear on their way to redeeming themselves after last season’s dysfunctional campaign which saw them lose to the Milwaukee Bucks in the second round of the playoffs in five games.
