Boston Celtics star point guard Kyrie Irving is not a fan of comparing players because he feels you don't get to appreciate what an individual player brings to the table by doing it.

Irving was asked Friday if Toronto Raptors small forward Kawhi Leonard reminds him of Los Angeles Lakers superstar LeBron James, and the five-time All-Star gave a unique response:

You can always count on Kyrie Irving to give some type of fascinating answer whenever he's talking to the media. Both Leonard and James are spectacular players, but affect the games in different ways. James is a one-man fast break, cerebral passer, and one of the best finishers at the rim. Leonard, meanwhile, is a superior defender, has a more efficient mid-range game, and can shoot the 3-ball at a higher clip than James.

Irving and the Celtics take on Leonard and the Raptors Friday in Toronto. The explosive scorer expects the two-time Defensive Player of the Year to guard him, and knows he can't be loose with the ball.

Via Abby Chin of NBC Sports Boston:

“I know when he’s on me, I can’t play around with the ball,” Irving said. “He puts in that stick hand and he starts shifting you one way or another. You’ve just got to go by him as best you can or try to get a screen to get him up off you.”

The Celtics and Raptors are considered by many to be the two best teams in the Eastern Conference. It should be a good matchup up North.
