He knocked down 3-pointers, played hard-nosed defense, and threw down electrifying dunks. That was Boston Celtics forward Jaylen Brown who played ferociously against the defending champion Golden State Warriors Thursday night at TD Garden.

Brown had scored 22 points in 34 minutes to help the Celtics defeat the Warriors, 92-88. It was ironic that moments before he thought about not even playing in the game due to the apparent suicide of his best friend. That kept Brown in an uneasy place until his friend's mother, Ms. Steede gave him a call which helped push him to play despite what he felt at that moment.

The Celtics rallied to win their 14th straight game, and Jaylen Brown later held back tears while explaining how the two had met and become best buddies.

Kyrie Irving, whom Brown looks up to, brought him the game ball and gave him a message to take home for some consolation.

Those are words that Jaylen Brown is likely to never forget. He later posted a picture on social media of himself and Trevin with the caption “This was for you bro.”
