Think Los Angeles Chargers running back Melvin Gordon is bitter about losing to the New England Patriots in the Divisional Round of the playoffs a couple of weeks ago?

Think again.

Gordon made it perfectly clear that he is rooting for the Patriots to beat the Los Angeles Rams in the Super Bowl, because he lives in Los Angeles and does not want to hear about the Rams every day if they win.

There's also that whole “we can say we lost to the best team” thing going on.

Remember: there were some who actually felt the Chargers would end up representing the AFC in the Super Bowl, as they won 12 games on the year and were one of the hottest teams in the league heading into the playoffs.

Los Angeles did beat the Baltimore Ravens on the road in the Wild Card Round, but a week later, the Chargers found themselves behind by a score of 35-3 to the Patriots at halftime. They ended up losing 41-28.

Gordon made his second Pro Bowl this season after rushing for 885 yards and 10 touchdowns while averaging 5.1 yards per carry. In addition, he hauled in 50 receptions for 490 yards and four scores. He did all of that in just 12 games, as he missed four contests due to a knee injury.

The 25-year-old, who played his collegiate football at the University of Wisconsin, was originally selected by the Bolts in the first round (15th pick overall) of the 2015 NFL Draft. He also made the Pro Bowl during his second year after finishing with 997 yards and 10 touchdowns.
