Kansas City Chiefs running back Damien Williams will play in his team's Week 5 matchup against the Indianapolis Colts this Sunday, according to Herbie Teope of The Kansas City Star.

Williams has missed the last two games with a knee injury.

The 27-year-old was expected to have a major role in the Chiefs' offense this season, but he has been a major disappointment thus far, as he carried the ball 22 times for just 34 yards over his first couple of games.

Williams was also initially pegged as Kansas City's No. 1 back heading into 2019, but the Chiefs' last-minute addition of LeSean McCoy before the season began changed things.

Williams' role grew significantly last season after Kareem Hunt's release late in the year. He made three starts for the Chiefs during the final stretch, totaling 256 yards and four touchdowns on the year overall.

He then put forth an impressive showing in the playoffs, finishing with 159 yards and a couple of scores while registering 4.5 yards per attempt. e also caught 10 passes for 91 yards and a pair of touchdowns.

He then joined the Chiefs in March 2018.

Kansas City has gotten off to a 4-0 start, most recently defeating the Detroit Lions by a score of 34-30. After hosting the Colts this weekend, the Chiefs will welcome the Houston Texans in Week 6.
