Kansas City Chiefs safety Eric Berry was able to make his 2018 NFL season debut versus the Los Angeles Chargers in Week 15. It seems that is not the only first for him this year.

Berry was also able to practice in full for Kansas City this week. According to Charean Williams of Pro Football Talk, this was the first time he was able to do so all season:

Berry fully participated in practice Wednesday, the first time all season the Chiefs have given him that designation. He was limited last week before his 2018 debut.

This is certainly an encouraging sign for Berry. Although he made his debut last Thursday, the Chiefs still limited him to 30 plays in the first half before he was sidelined for the rest of the game. It is clear that Kansas City is taking a cautious approach with the veteran's recovery.

Regardless, Berry's ability to log in a full practice shows that he is nearing full health. It appears he is adamant about removing the play count moving forward. They could have used his versatile skill set during their effort to prevent the Chargers' comeback. However, the timing could not be better with Kansas City gearing up for a playoff run.

The one uncertainty surrounding this team is their porous defense. There is no question that this unit is much more dangerous with Berry in the mix. The Chiefs will be in desperate need of the five-time Pro Bowler's versatile skill set in the postseason.

It will be interesting to see if he is able to log in more playing time versus the Seattle Seahawks on Sunday.
