The Kansas City Chiefs continued their winning ways with a victory over the Los Angeles Chargers on Sunday. Travis Kelce was everywhere against the Chargers, and Taylor Swift was in attendance once again. After the game, the Chiefs did get some bad news on linebacker Nick Bolton, and now he is expected to be out for two months with a dislocated wrist, per Tom Pelissero of NFL Network.

‘Chiefs LB Nick Bolton will need surgery on his dislocated wrist and is expected to miss roughly two months, per source. A tough loss for the Kansas City D.'

The loss of Bolton is going to be a huge blow to the Chiefs' defense, especially after the 2021 second-round pick had 108 solo tackles and a pair of interceptions in 2022. There was definitely a case for him to make the AFC Pro Bowl team last year with these numbers, although he ended up being left off.

In 2023, Bolton had 15 solo tackles with an interception in four games. In Bolton's absence, it seems likely that former Chargers LB Drue Tranquill will be his replacement, and he has 26 solo tackles with 2.5 sacks and a forced fumble while playing in all seven games as the Chiefs defense ranks 3rd in points allowed per game and 7th in sacks.

The two-month timeline is labeled as “rough” and will put Bolton's return right around the end of the regular season, meaning he would be ready to suit up for the playoffs if everything goes as planned.

The Chiefs face the Denver Broncos and Miami Dolphins before a Week 10 bye.
