The Kansas City Chiefs are still in a shaky situation after two of their players in center Daniel Kilgore and wide receiver Demarcus Robinson were deemed as high-risk close contacts and placed on the COVID-19 reserve list. The two players will be allowed to suit up on Sunday against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the event that they are able to yield negative results in the coming days, via NFL‘s Ian Rapoport.

As told by NFL‘s Tom Pelissero, both players reportedly shared the same barber as they took a haircut over the weekend. The barber was in the middle of cutting Kilgore's hair when he returned a positive COVID-19 test while inside the team's practice facility.

According to Pelissero's source, the barber tested negative for five consecutive days before he made the trip to the facility. He also took an additional rapid test prior to entering the facility but the release of the result eventually got delayed.

After being called off from cutting Kilgore's hair, the barber bared to the Chiefs that he also gave Robinson a trim on the day before he went to the facility. The barber reportedly wore a mask, with both players doing the same as well.

Kilgore and Robinson didn't test positive for the virus which still makes them eligible to see action in Super Bowl LV, barring any unforeseen circumstances. However, they won't be able to practice with the team over the weekend as they are still mandated to undergo a five-day quarantine period.

Robinson was named as a starter in the Chiefs' offensive rotation in the AFC Championship Game against the Buffalo Bills but didn't get to record any significant statistic. He tallied 466 receiving yards on 45 receptions and three touchdowns in 16 games played in the regular season.

On the other hand, Kilgore primarily played as a backup offensive lineman and started four of the seven games he played in. He is expected to assume a larger role if he is allowed to suit up in the Super Bowl due to several injuries sustained by the Chiefs' offensive linemen.
