The Kansas City Chiefs were the toast of the NFL last season. There was a lot of doubt about how they'd be able to do in Patrick Mahomes' first year under center, and they far surpassed all expectations. They finished the regular season 12-4, won the AFC West, and had home-field advantage through the AFC playoffs.
Their playoff run came up just short when they lost to the Patriots in overtime in the AFC Championship Game, but it was an immensely successful season overall. This time around, they'll be facing much higher expectations.

Article Continues BelowThe Patriots opened at 11, while the Chiefs are at 10. No other AFC team got more than 9.5. It's always harder to play when the expectations aren't low heading into a season, but Mahomes is special. There's not likely to be too much regression after his MVP season, and the Chiefs will very likely be championship contenders again next season.
Assuming Mahomes can stay healthy, 10 wins doesn't seem too high of a bar to clear. The Chiefs will face a difficult schedule, but they were playing a first place schedule last year also. The Chiefs will be in primetime constantly in 2019, and the spotlight will be even brighter than it was in 2019. It'll be interesting to see how they hold up.
