The Kansas City Chiefs have some voids to fill on their roster this offseason if they want to maintain their high-powered approach on offense moving forward. Unfortunately, it could result in the departure of running back Spencer Ware.

Ware is set to hit the market as a free agent. According to Jason La Canfora of CBS Sports, the Chiefs may very well be outbid for his services.

Someone is going to hit a home run with Spencer Ware. He is being overlooked by the media, but is dynamic with the ball in his hands and catches everything thrown to him. His market will out-price the Chiefs.

Ware has largely served as a complementary option in Kansas City's backfield thus far in his career. He was able to etch out a role for himself in the Chiefs' offense thanks to his versatile skill-set as both a runner and receiver. Despite his recent struggles with injuries, it appears his prospects bode well on the market.

This brings up a bit of a dilemma for Kansas City. They have recently invested in their receiving corps in an attempt to give quarterback Patrick Mahomes as many weapons as possible to throw it to. Despite the combined star power of wide receiver Tyreek Hill and Sammy Watkins, the Chiefs still lack depth behind them.

However, the front office is projected to have just over $10 million in cap space to play with this offseason. With running back Charcandrick West also set to hit the market, the Chiefs will need to divert some assets toward fortifying their backfield.
