The Kansas City Chiefs took a huge blow on their offense after losing key QB Patrick Mahomes to a horrifying knee injury. Fortunately, the injury wasn't too serious, so much so that he may be able to return to action in relatively little time.

Albert Breer shared the results of the MRI done on Mahomes knee and the hopes that the Chiefs have on their young quarterback's return. This is great news for fans who were anxious to know of their star QB's fate after dislocating his kneecap during their Thursday night game against the Denver Broncos.

Mahomes is an important player for the Chiefs and will continue to be the key player for their Super Bowl hopes. In only seven NFL games this season, he's already notched 2,180 passing yards and 15 touchdowns. This came after a legendary season where he won the MVP award on top of a Pro Bowl and First-Team All-Pro honors.

Fortunately, the team's rookies helped them get over the Broncos in a one-sided sweep. Players like Mecole Hardman made plays that helped the team win. Moreover, Matt Moore showed the league that they can still throw it in the air even if their star QB is not ready to play.

Of course, they would rather have Mahomes in the pocket. After all, they face the Green Bay Packers and Minnesota Vikings within the next two weeks. With Mahomes not around to bail them out, the Chiefs will need a complete team effort to survive their star QB's absence.
