The Kansas City Chiefs have somehow held on to Eric Bieniemy for some time despite a ton of interest from NFL teams. But, the USC Trojans fired Clay Helton on Monday, and rumor has it that Bieniemy has emerged as a candidate for the vacant Trojans job, according to Adam Schefter of ESPN.

Bieniemy to the Trojans would be a huge move for both sides, and a tough transition from NFL to college football, especially since this is one of the premier destinations and jobs in the entire country.

Bieniemy has been passed over quite a few times and has remained consistent about having limited interest in college jobs, but as Schefter reports, this is one job that definitely would interest him.

The Trojans' expected coaching search is likely going to take quite a bit of time and could run its course until the end of the season, but it is definitely surprising that Bieniemy's name has come up as a candidate for the job.

The Chiefs would lose a talented coordinator, although Andy Reid and the franchise have been preparing for this for a while and it is only a matter of time before he lands as a head coach somewhere.
