The Kansas City Chiefs' offensive line got a major upgrade. On Friday, news broke that star tackle Orlando Brown was being dealt from the Baltimore Ravens to Kansas City, where he'll help protect their $500 million man in Patrick Mahomes.

The Chiefs sent three picks in next week's NFL Draft back to Baltimore, including a first-rounder (no. 31 overall), a third-rounder, and a fourth-rounder. KC will also receive a second-round pick (2021) and a sixth-round pick (2022).

In response to the trade, another star QB Brown used to protect, Kyler Murray, shared his excitement for his former teammate's move to the defending AFC champs. Brown starred alongside Murray at Oklahoma.

Orlando Brown, who is turning 25 in May, started 42 games for the Ravens since 2018. He allowed no sacks protecting Lamar Jackson's blindside last season, per Pro Football Focus (via ESPN). He's been selected to the Pro Bowl each of the past two seasons.

Brown mostly played right tackle for Baltimore. In January, he tweeted “I'm a LEFT Tackle.”

Another ex-teammate of Brown's, Calais Campbell, strongly endorsed the Chiefs' acquisition.

Kansas City has completely re-tooled its O-Line from Week 1 of 2020. So far this offseason, they've signed Kyle Long, Joe Thuney, and Austin Blythe. Laurent Duvernay-Tardif and Lucas Niang are also expected to be back with the team after opting out of last season for COVID-19-related reasons.

Brown will start at left tackle for the Chiefs, in the place of the departed former no. 1 overall pick Eric Fisher, whom the franchise released earlier this offseason.
