The 2018 NFL season has not even officially started yet the Kansas City Chiefs are already sporting a whole new look. The Chiefs have made two blockbuster trades involving quarterback Alex Smith and cornerback Marcus Peters.

A lot has been said about Kansas City's overhaul thus far and while one of the departed, Peters, understands that the move is just business, he was admittedly perplexed as to why the team had traded Smith to the Washington Redskins, as told during an appearance on NFL Total Access:

“Alex [Smith] don't get enough respect and they need to start putting some respect on that man's name. Because I've seen that man get thrown under the bus too many times and he took it as a man. He never complained about it, he don't turn over the ball, and he knows how to win.  That was our fault for messing up the playoffs for him.”

Needless to say, Peters felt the way a majority of fans felt throughout the league. It was even telling to hear him put the blame on the team rather than Smith for their 22-21 loss to the Tennessee Titans in the AFC Wild Card.

Little did Peters know, Smith's trade essentially resulted in the Chiefs being able to deal him now that they got cornerback Kendall Fuller on their way to town. Regardless, there is still clearly no hard feelings between the two-time All-Pro and his former team. All he can do now is his part make them regret the decision as a member of the Los Angeles Rams next season.
