Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes continues to add proof that he’s a human cheat code after yet another astonishing performance on Sunday. And it wasn’t just like any of Mahomes’ past spectacular outings this season, as he also broke an NFL record previously held by the legendary Peyton Manning when he tossed three touchdowns in a 38-27 win at Arrowhead victory over the San Francisco 49ers.

As noted by Adam Teicher of ESPN, the three touchdowns Mahomes scattered in the 49ers put the quarterback ahead of Manning n the history books for most touchdowns by a player in his first three games of an NFL season.

Against San Francisco, Mahomes outdueled 49ers signal-caller Jimmy Garoppolo by completing 24 of 38 passes for 314 passing yards and a triumvirate of touchdowns, which were all scored in the second quarter.

Mahomes has simply been sensational for the Chiefs ever since he got the keys of the team’s offense. The Chiefs clearly showed they had faith in the former Texas Tech Red Raiders gunslinger when they traded quarterback Alex Smith to the Washington Redskins in the offseason, a transaction that signaled the start of the Mahomes era in Kansas City.

So far, the Chiefs’ decision to give the starting quarterback chores to Patrick Mahomes has been paying huge dividends for the team.

With Mahomes directing the team’s offense, the Chiefs have arguably become the most electrifying team in the NFL. They are tops in the league in scoring with 39.3 points per game and among the top 10 in total yards with close to 400 per contest.

Mahomes and the Chiefs will look to extend their win streak to four games next week against the Denver Broncos on the road.
