The Kansas City Chiefs are getting set to face the San Francisco 49ers in the Super Bowl, and Patrick Mahomes is consulting his State Farm buddy as a result.

Mahomes and Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers have filmed some commercials for State Farm, and on Wednesday, the reigning MVP joked about calling Rodgers for some intel on the 49ers, considering Rodgers just lost to San Francisco in the NFC Championship Game this past weekend:

“I haven’t even thought about that. I might need to,” Mahomes said jokingly, per Charles Goldman of Chiefs Wire. “No, I do have a relationship where I can talk to him and text him and do stuff like that, but I’ll probably just focus on what we do here and what coach [Andy] Reid gameplans. I know we’ve done a good job of game-planning all year long.”

As incredible as the Niners' defense has been all year long, I'm not even sure how much help Mahomes needs.

The 24-year-old may very well be the best quarterback in football right now and is coming off of a masterful AFC Championship Game performance in which he completed 23 of his 35 passes for 294 yards and three touchdowns while also rushing for 53 yards and a score in a 35-24 win over the Tennessee Titans.

Mahomes missed a couple of games during the regular season as a result of a dislocated knee cap, but when he was on the field, he threw for 4,031 yards, 26 touchdowns, and five interceptions while completing 65.9 percent of his passes and posting a passer rating of 105.3.
