Kansas City Chiefs star quarterback Patrick Mahomes could run for public office and he would win by a landslide. That's how popular he has become since stepping foot in the NFL in 2017.

But Mahomes is not only making his presence felt on the gridiron, he's ventured into soccer as well. On Tuesday, the former Super Bowl champion announced that he has purchased an ownership stake in Sporting Kansas City in the MLS. And quite predictably, he's very elated (via France 24)

“I am grateful for the opportunity to join Sporting Kansas City's ownership team and strengthen my connection to the fans and the city I love. Sporting is a community-oriented club and I am excited to continue supporting the growth of soccer in Kansas City.”

The 25-year-old Mahomes continues to own a lot of, um, KC stuff. But the multi-talented QB has always associated himself with success, so he won't have any trouble taking on his latest role.

Besides, he's not exactly new to this major sports club thing. He's also a part-owner of the Kansas City Royals in the MLB, while his fiancee, Brittany Matthews, is a co-owner of Kansas City FC in the National Women's Soccer League. Only time will tell when they'll buy the entire city and rename every street Mahomes St.

Charismatic and charitable, Patrick Mahomes continues to spread his wings and espouse positivity around the community. But in the next few days, he'll be busier with training camp as the Chiefs look to bounce back and avenge their tough Super Bowl defeat last season against Tom Brady and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
