The Kansas City Chiefs are starting to get used to life without quarterback Alex Smith, and it seems that Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce has begun doing that in his own unique way.

According to Dan Hellie of the NFL Network, Kelce played NFL Madden during a Super Bowl Party, but before getting in on the action, he changed his quarterback from Alex Smith to Patrick Mahomes.

Ever since Travis Kelce arrived in the NFL in 2013, when he was selected by the Chiefs in the third round, he only has played alongside one regular starting quarterback and that was Alex Smith. Smith was traded by the San Francisco 49ers to Kansas City in the same year Kansas City drafted Kelce, and from then on, the two played together for five seasons. With Smith gone, Kelce will have to adapt to the style of Patrick Mahomes, who is expected to take on the reins under center for the Chiefs beginning next season. Mahomes is also a dual-threat quarterback, making him fun to use in Madden.

Mahomes has very limited playing experience in the NFL with only one game played (a start) in 2017, his first year in the league, but people who saw the 22-year-old play during his college days in Texas Tech know that he could be an electric NFL quarterback if given the chance. In his last season for the Kliff Kingsbury-coached Red Raiders, Mahomes managed to amass dizzying totals of 5,052 passing yards and 41 touchdowns to go with 12 rushing scores.

Hopefully for Kelce, the Chiefs would just be fine after deciding to roll with Mahomes.
