San Francisco 49ers second-year tight end George Kittle has taken the NFL by storm this year, and some of his peers have taken notice.

Count Kansas City Chiefs star tight end Travis Kelce as one of those peers.

Kelce has been so impressed by Kittle's sophomore campaign that he sent his fellow tight end a signed jersey, per Jennifer Lee Chan of NBC Sports Bay Area.

“Keep ballin' my guy, you are an absolute beast!” wrote Kelce on the jersey. “Don't ever lose that personality and enjoy life!! Stay healthy man. Much respect!”

Kittle enters the weekend with 1,228 receiving yards, just 101 yards behind the all-time mark for a tight end set by Rob Gronkowski of the New England Patriots.

And here's the catch: Kelce comes into play this Sunday with 1,247 yards, so he, too, has a chance to break the record.

Not only that, but Kittle racked up 210 yards during the 49ers' win over the Denver Broncos back on Dec. 9, coming within five yards of breaking Shannon Sharpe's single-game record for a tight end.

Kittle was actually shut down in the second half of that game, and San Francisco head coach Kyle Shanahan later apologized to Kittle for not allowing him to get the record.

In addition to his yardage total this season, Kittle has hauled in 79 receptions while scoring four touchdowns.

Meanwhile, Kelce has caught 98 passes and has reached the end zone 10 times.

The 25-year-old Kittle, who played his collegiate football at the University of Iowa, was originally selected by the 49ers in the fifth round (146th pick overall) of the 2017 NFL Draft.
