Kansas City Chiefs star wide receiver released a statement on Thursday saying he is innocent and that he loves his family. The statement comes less than 24 hours after Johnson County District Attorney Steve Howe said that Hill wouldn't face child abuse charges because they couldn't figure out who actually committed the act, but the evidence does show there was a crime committed.

Hill released the following statement:

“I love and support my family above anything. My son’s health and happiness is my number one priority. I want to thank the Kansas City Chiefs, my attorneys, my agent and my union for supporting me through this. My focus remains on working hard to be the best person for my family and our community I can be, and the best player to help our team win.”

Hill's attorney also released a statement saying that Hill has cooperated with law enforcement, and waived his fifth amendment rights to talk to law enforcement. Hill isn't able to comment more though because of confidentiality laws.

“Unfortunately, due to laws related to confidentiality, as much as he would like to, he cannot comment regarding specific allegations,” the statement read.

The big question now is, what will the NFL do? The NFL doesn't take what law enforcement finds into account for their punishment and it seems like there is a good chance that he could be suspended.

Now that the legal case is closed, look for the NFL to really heat up their investigation and for their decision to come in the next few months.
