Tampa Bay Buccaneers tight end Rob Gronkowski made headlines with his decision to come out of retirement. It seems his return has provided some added motivation for Hall of Famer Tony Gonzalez.

Gonzalez recently took to Twitter to poke some fun at his comeback attempt:

Gonzalez may be joking, however, he still looks like he is still more than capable of suiting up on Sundays. Although he is well into his retirement, it is safe to say that quarterback Patrick Mahomes would be able to make do.

Before Gronkowski, Tony Gonzalez had served as the league's premier tight end thanks to a rare combination of size and speed that made them a matchup nightmare for smaller defenders in the passing game.

Gonzalez may own all the best individual tight end receiving records even to this day, but Gronkowski was able to counter by racking up three Super Bowl wins. He will now be looking to add to his impressive resume by starting a new chapter alongside quarterback Tom Brady in Tampa Bay.

But for the Buccaneers to win a championship, they may have to find a way to slow down Tony Gonzalez and the Chiefs.
