Following six very successful years with the L.A. Clippers franchise, Chris Paul has moved onto the next chapter of his life. Following a meeting with Doc Rivers and the Clippers on Friday where he informed the club of his intentions, Paul has been traded to the Houston Rockets where he'll be playing alongside James Harden.

In exchange for Paul, the Clippers will receive guard Patrick Beverley, guard Lou Williams, forward Sam Dekker, forward/center Montrezl Harrell, and a top-three-protected 2018 first-round pick.

Following the news of the trade, Paul took to Twitter to thank Clippers fans and the community for the support over the last six years in Los Angeles.

In six seasons with the Clippers, Paul averaged 18.8 points, 4.2 rebounds, 9.8 assists, and 2.2 steals per game on 47.5% shooting, 37.8% from beyond the three-point arc, and 88.1% from the free throw line. More importantly, Paul brought the Clippers back to NBA relevance one dazzling pass and clutch shot at a time, and made a rivalry of the once-one-sided Lakers and Clippers matchups.
