According to Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN, L.A. Clippers star forward Blake Griffin is expected to be out two months with a sprained left MCL after he suffered the injury Monday night against the Los Angeles Lakers.

The five-time NBA All-Star sustained the injury during the fourth quarter of the Clippers' thrilling 120-115 victory over the Lakers at Staples Center. Point guard and teammate Austin Rivers collided with Griffin while going after a loose ball, which resulted in the forward's knee being bent in an awkward position.

This is an absolutely crushing blow for a Clippers team that is already dealing with a plethora of injuries this season.

Starting forward Danilo Gallinari has missed the past 10 games for the Clippers with a glute injury, while it was announced recently that starting point guard Patrick Beverley would miss the remainder of the regular season after he underwent microfracture surgery on his right knee.

In 19 starts this season for the Clippers, Griffin is averaging a team-high 23.6 points, 7.9 rebounds and 5.1 assists per game in 35.8 minutes of action per contest.
