Here’s a fun fact for every NBA fan today, if ever free agent DeMarcus Cousins does indeed sign with the Los Angeles Clippers, he would officially be the player that has suited up for all California teams. Boogie has already played for the Los Angeles Lakers, Sacramento Kings, and the Golden State Warriors—where he was part of one championship team.

Cousins is rumored to sign with the Clippers on a 10-day contract after he bought out by the rebuilding Houston Rockets this season. He’s had multiple horrible injuries in his career, but continues to play and somewhat contribute for every team he suits up for. Boogie averaged 9.6 points, 7.6 rebounds, and 2.4 assists this season before the buyout. He’s someone the Clippers can use when they play small or perhaps stretch the floor since he can knock down three-pointers.

Cousins’ best season perhaps was when he wore the Kings and Pelicans jersey. He, unfortunately, tore his Achilles in 2018 when he played for the Pelicans, who could have made a playoff run that season. In 2019, Cousins tore his MCL while in training camp with the Los Angeles Lakers. To see him come back from these two devastating injuries is a testament to how mentally tough Cousins is as a player.

That said, Cousins can still contribute to any team that decides to sign him. Depending on the role given to him, Boogie can space the floor, rebound, make the extra pass and at least give his efforts on the defensive end. If the Clippers do decide to sign him for the long run, Cousins’ chemistry with point guard Rajon Rondo could be a factor moving forward.
