Los Angeles Clippers head coach Doc Rivers recently gave us a preview of his team's recruitment approach once free agency hits this summer. However, it wasn't much of a reveal — if you could call it that — as the 57-year-old coach opted to share very little of L.A.'s plans.

The Clippers are expected to be very active in free agency this offseason, and are primed to be one of the premier destinations for some prominent players that will be looking for a new squad for next season. As Rivers said, the tropical weather in L.A. is one of the organization's come-ons, but so is the glitz and glamour of the Hollywood lifestyle. Surely, this gives them some sort of an edge over the New York Knicks, which happens to be another attractive destination for free agents.

The Clippers made some very impressive moves over the trade deadline, which allowed them to clear significant cap space for the upcoming free agent frenzy. However, they did so without tearing their team apart, and somehow, they have kept their momentum going entering the final stages of the regular season.

At the moment, L.A. is locked in a three-way tie with the Oklahoma City Thunder and the Utah Jazz for the fifth spot in the Western Conference. The Clippers have done wonderfully well this season, making the most of the resources they currently possess.

The perks of living in a high-profile city is one thing, but signing with a team that has proven that it can compete with the best of them should prove to be an even more important deciding factor for available free agents.
