Rumors about the L.A. Clippers possibly dealing Lou Williams and DeAndre Jordan before the trade deadline are heating up by the day. Both have been quite the commodity, with Williams being a dangerous streaky shooter and a scoring machine, while Jordan is one of the league's best rebounders and shot-blockers.

Prior to facing the visiting Boston Celtics on Wednesday night, Clippers coach Doc Rivers talked about how he's handling such trade talks, and how he communicates with the players involved during the process.

“It really depends on the guy. [Lou Williams] is so laid back you know, don't need to talk to him that much. [DeAndre Jordan] is more high-strung, [you have to] talk to him and tell him the truth.
I think honesty is what you have to do, just be honest [on] what's going on, try to share it with them.
We love to keep [DeAndre Jordan] – bottom-line, but we have to do what's best for our team.”

Various teams have separately inquired for Williams and Jordan's services, but it's the stumbling Cleveland Cavaliers that are the most aggressive, as they are exploring a trade for both players. Should the Clipps choose the Cavs as its trading partner, there's a possibility they will receive the Brooklyn Nets' lottery pick for the 2018 draft.

With a record toeing the .500 mark, the Clippers are flipping in and out of the playoff picture in the Western Conference. They are also just a couple of games back from the seventh and sixth seed.
