For many rookies, their first year in the NBA will be a time of adjustment, as they are now professional basketball players. From having new teammates and coaches, to getting used to a season’s grind, these are just some of the things they are familiarizing themselves with.

The good news for them though is they have veteran teammates who are there to learn from. However for the L.A. Clippers, they are lucky that their executive board member, the legendary Jerry West, is very hands-on in giving advice to their rookies. He even found time to speak to Jawun Evans during their practice session recently, to catch up with him, and give him some pointers as well.

Jawun Evans was the 39th overall pick in last June's draft and is still competing for a final roster spot with the Clippers. With the multitude of point guards the team has though, it will be a tall order for him to make the final cut.

But learning from The Logo himself will be something that could benefit him in the future, whether he plays for the Clippers this season or not. With all the knowledge he can share to him, it may not come as a surprise if Evans carves his niche in the league someday, and make Jerry West proud with the player he can turn out to be.
