NBA legend Jerry West has nothing but praises for the Los Angeles Clippers organization, saying that it has been the best franchise that he has been a part of in his career.

West said on the Dan Patrick Show on Monday that he has never seen a franchise similar to the Clippers. He had nothing but praises for team owner Steve Ballmer, who always wants to get the best people in the organization regardless of the price to pay.

“Ballmer is willing to spend on players, he’s willing to spend on personnel within the front office,” West said. “I've never been around any organization that is better than this one, that's for sure.”

West also spent time as an executive with the Los Angeles Lakers, Memphis Grizzlies, and the Golden State Warriors, where he had a lot of success. His current stint with the Clippers is not expected to be different, as he has already transformed the team into a title contender next season.

West and the Clippers pulled off a huge heist earlier in free agency, when they convinced Kawhi Leonard to sign despite strong interests from the Toronto Raptors and the Lakers. Before signing Leonard, the Clippers also struck a blockbuster trade to acquire Paul George from the Oklahoma City Thunder.

The veteran executive refused to take the credit, though, saying that he had a little hand on what transpired earlier this month. However, he is very thrilled to have both Leonard and George in the franchise.

“I try to be completely fair and honest to all the players in the league,” West said. “But honestly think they’re the two best two-way players in basketball. And to get them in one night is pretty remarkable.”
