The Los Angeles Clippers are just one win away from making their first-ever Western Conference Finals appearance in franchise history. If you asked around Doc Rivers' locker room, from Kawhi Leonard to Montrezl Harrell, you'd be lucky to find someone batting an eye at that fact.

LA defeated the Denver Nuggets 96-85 in Game 4 on Wednesday night, taking a 3-1 series lead with the potential closeout game coming on Friday night.

According to Montrezl Harrell, this series is far from over.

“Job isn’t done, man,” Harrell told members of the media postgame. “It’s 3-1, man. It’s whoever gets to four first or whoever wins best out of seven, so like you said, it’s 3-1. The series isn’t over. We’ve just got to come out with the right mentality to be able to prepare for the next game and be ready to go. We enjoy this win tonight, but tomorrow, we go right back to work and get prepared for a closeout game.”

Harrell had his second-best scoring night of the bubble in Game 4, finishing with 15 points and two rebounds on 6-of-10 shooting from the field. He paced a Clippers bench that outscored the Nuggets' reserves 32-21.

Kawhi Leonard had a game-high 30 points to go along with 11 rebounds, nine assists, four steals, and two blocks on the night. He echoed Montrezl Harrell's comments about completing the job Friday.

“I mean, it's always good if you can make it to the next round, but we've got a lot of work to do still,” Leonard said. “This Denver team does not quit. They have got a good group over there, a good coach. So we still fighting.”

Leonard believes that despite their 7-3 playoff record, his team still has a lot it can improve on moving forward.

“We are all still learning each other,” Leonard added postgame. “It’s a different team. You know, especially with me and PG, and even the guys that have been here, it’s a different style of play, different voices that you’re hearing, so we’re trying to come together. I don’t know where we are, but I know that we just want to keep getting better, and that’s the focus on each and every day, is just being a better unit.”

Only three times in Clippers history has the franchise even been just one game away from the conference finals.

In 1975, the Buffalo Braves dropped Game 7 to the Washington Bullets.

In 2006, the Clippers fell to the Phoenix Suns in Game 7 of a tightly contested series.

In 2015, the Clippers blew a 3-1 lead against the Houston Rockets.

Head coach Doc Rivers was a part of the latest Clippers team to make a run at the Western Conference Finals in 2015, which many at the time assumed was a lock considering their domination of the Rockets through the first four games of the series. Unfortunately, that didn't happen.

The goal of the Lob City Clippers was always to try and win an NBA championship, but they hadn't proven anything at the time. This Clippers team is different. The moment news of Kawhi Leonard and Paul George's team-up went public, the expectations for this team rose to championship-or-bust status instantaneously. That's why Rivers and his players don't see making the Western Conference Finals as an accomplishment.

“Uhh, nothing,” Doc Rivers responded when asked about the locker room's reaction to being a win away. “Like, that's not our goal. So I don't even think no one cares to be honest. It was a zero reaction is what I would say. We haven't done anything yet.”

The Clippers have a chance to close out the Denver Nuggets in Game 5 on Friday at 3:30 p.m. PT. If LA can get it done, they'll await the winner of the Los Angeles Lakers-Houston Rockets series.
