Now that Isaiah Hartenstein has officially left for the New York Knicks in free agency, the LA Clippers have to find someone to back Ivica Zubac up. They are attempting to do so by signing Moses Brown, a former teammate of their playoff archrival, Luka Doncic.

According to Kelly Iko of The Athletic, LA has extended an offer to the 22-year-old center.

This signing could be a sneakily good one for the Clippers. Brown began last season with the Dallas Mavericks, appearing in 26 games but playing just 6.5 minutes per contest. He finished the season with the Cleveland Cavaliers and played the prior season with the Oklahoma City Thunder. In 21.4 minutes per game with the Thunder, he averaged 8.9 rebounds, 8.6 points and 1.1 blocks.

Brown is a strong rebounder. He collected 23 boards (while scoring 21 points) against the Boston Celtics in the 2020-21 season while he was on the Thunder. Although he hasn't averaged that many due to his lack of playing time, he is a strong presence on the glass. His rebounding percentage last season of 21.7 percent was better than board crashers like Steven Adams and Jonas Valnciunas.

Of course, Brown's production has to be taken in the context of his minimal playing time and the fact that his defense still needs work. He most likely won't be as good as Hartenstein was for the Clippers but could improve his game and have more impact on a team with more talent. LA would be wise to look for veteran options in free agency to play minutes at the five spot.
