The Los Angeles Clippers escaped with the victory against the upset-minded Dallas Mavericks, 118-110, in Game 1 of their best-of-seven Western Conference first-round matchup on Monday.

Kawhi Leonard led his team with 29 points, 12 boards, and six assists, while his fellow superstar Paul George recorded 27 points, two rebounds, three assists.

The pair’s steady play allowed the Clips to survive an amazing performance from Mavs star Luka Doncic, who tallied a game-best 42 markers along with nine assists and seven rebounds.

Featuring a complete lineup for the first time inside the bubble in Orlando, the Clippers got the ball rolling early thanks in large part to Paul George’s hot start.

The Doc Rivers-mentored team raced to a 10-0 lead early in the first canto and even held a 16-point advantage at one point.

But the Mavs’ two international stars, Luka Doncic and Kristaps Porzingis, led Dallas’ uprising and powered the seventh-seeded team to a 69-66 lead at the half.

However, things took a turn for the worst for the Mavs in the third quarter after Porzingis was ejected following two controversial technical fouls.

The 7-foot-3 Latvian already had one technical in the first quarter after arguing on a call. He received his second one after halftime for shoving Clippers’ forward Marcus Morris — who got entangled with Doncic.

That critical juncture was a momentum killer for the Mavs, who still had the lead at that point.

Even Mavs legend Dirk Nowitzki and Los Angeles Lakers superstar LeBron James took to Twitter to express their disgust for Porzingis’ supposed “bogus” ejection.

Kristaps exited the game with 14 points and six rebounds in 20 minutes.

Aside from having a hand in Porzingis’ ejection, Morris also gave the Clips a huge boost offensively by firing 19 points and six rebounds in 32 minutes off the bench. He connected on three of his six attempts from past the arc. Lou Williams also pitched in 14 points for LA, while Ivica Zubac added 10.

The Mavs managed to keep it close upon Porzingis’ ejection, but they just didn’t have enough juice to pull off the upset in the fourth. Game 2 is scheduled on Wednesday.
