The Los Angeles Clippers held tough against the New Orleans Pelicans on Friday night, but it wasn't enough to keep their season alive. The last-minute absence of Paul George was just too much to overcome, but they nearly pulled off the win in a narrow 105-101 defeat.

Instead of hanging their heads after the game, Nicolas Batum wants the Clippers to appreciate what they were able to accomplish this season, and the adversity they had to overcome to even get to this point.

Via Clippers reporter Joey Linn:

“Covid, injuries, the comebacks, everything. That was fun. We’ve been through it all. Trades. Missing players. We had everything, dude. Still 8th seed in the West Without our best player. Basically without our two best players… I love this team,” said the Clippers veteran.

Nicolas Batum didn't exactly have a great game based on the box score. But the Clippers veteran played a key role in trying to limit Pelicans star Brandon Ingram. The former All-Star got off to a scorching start, making nine of his first ten shots up until Batum put the clamps on him to allow the Clippers to go on a huge run and take a 13 point lead at one point.

Batum finished with just two points on 1-for-7 shooting. But any Clippers fan will tell you that getting him back next season can only aid in a potential title run once their stars come back to full strength.
