Los Angeles Clippers guard Patrick Beverley displayed his rough style on Thursday against Phoenix Suns star Chris Paul. The referees, however, didn't let things pass as they ejected Beverley out of the game.

Paul obviously tried to sell the call. But Beverley did have some malicious intent with his elbow. CP3 seems to be aware of Beverley's tendencies. He won't necessarily kill you on offense but in terms of defense, trash-talking, and bruising the hell out of opponents, Beverley has the advantage.

Most of the time, Beverley's antics work. If he gets in your head, then you better say goodbye to that coveted A-game. But for high IQ guys like Paul, they know how to counter Beverley's tendencies. One is thru flopping as he did in the play. Another way is to hush him up by continuously dominating him, which isn't always as easy as it sounds.

But at the end of the night, it seems like it was Beverley who got the last laugh as the Clippers hacked out a 113-103 victory to improve to 35-18. The duo of Paul George and Kawhi Leonard scored 33 and 27 points, respectively. Patrick Beverley played just 17 minutes and had two assists. Chris Paul, meanwhile, had 13 points, seven rebounds, and three dimes.
