Patrick Beverley once again reminded everyone that the Clippers, and not the 16-time champion Lakers, are the better team in Los Angeles.

While speaking to reporters, the feisty defensive guard doubled down on his bold statement during the summer, and said that the numbers don't lie, per Tomer Azarly of ClutchPoints:

Beverley certainly isn't one to keep his mouth shut after a statement win like they had against the Lakers. He was clearly fired up after the game and shoved it to the media, as if saying: “I told you so.”

He certainly backed up those preseason claims while helping the Clippers secure a massive 113-105 win. As usual, Beverley brought it on the defensive end, coming away with five steals to go along with 13 points, nine rebounds, four assists, and three 3-pointers.

More importantly, the Clippers' win stuck another dagger in the Lakers' playoff hopes. The Lakers are now 30-34 on the season and 5.5 games behind the final postseason spot out West.

The Clippers have long been second fiddle to the storied Lakers franchise. But over the past seven seasons, the Clippers have been the better team, with the emergence of the Lob City era.

However, upon LeBron James' arrival, many penciled in the Lakers to once again snatch the throne in Hollywood. But Beverley, being the feisty competitor that he is, did not want to give up that title that easily.

And so we find ourselves in March, five months after Beverley's claim, and he's right: The numbers don't lie. The Clippers are surprisingly still firmly holding down a playoff spot in seventh, and they are six games above the 10th-place Lakers.

Sure, a lot of drama and injuries have clouded LeBron James and his crew. But the Clippers are doing this despite dealing away their best player in Tobias Harris at the trade deadline.

They made it clear that they want to make the playoffs, and they're showing it with their play. They're a hungry bunch. They play hard and compete every night, despite being devoid of a star.

A lot are saying that they don't want to see the Clippers in the playoffs because they don't have a superstar, but they don't care about that. Patrick Beverley certainly doesn't.
