Los Angeles Clippers combo guard Patrick Beverley says shooting guard Lou Williams is his “favorite teammate ever.”

Beverley is an unrestricted free agent this summer. The Chicago native says it will be hard for him to leave the Clippers since Williams is like a brother.

“Favorite teammate ever, ” Williams told Khari Arnold NBA.com. “Favorite teammate ever. When I came to Atlanta, he was the first person I got up with. We talk about everything, family. He’s like my brother. We’ve spent a lot time together with the Rockets and Clippers. That’s gonna be a big point this offseason. If I do choose to leave (the Clippers), I’d be leaving him, my brother Lou Will. And that would be tough on me.”

The Clippers made the playoffs this season despite not having an All-Star on the roster. LA lost to the Golden State Warriors in six games in the first round of the playoffs, but didn't go down without a fight.

During the regular season, Beverley — one of the best one-on-one defenders in the league — averaged 7.6 points, 5.0 rebounds and 3.8 assists while shooting 40.7 percent from the field, 39.7 percent from beyond the arc and 78.0 percent from the free-throw line.

Williams, meanwhile, put up 20.0 points off the bench. He is widely expected to win the Sixth Man of the Year award again.

The Clippers will do everything they can to re-sign Beverley since he's arguably the heart and soul of the team.
