On Thursday's game against the Detroit Pistons, Paul George of the LA Clippers left the game due to a hamstring injury.

In the first half, George was seen heading to the locker room. The team revealed that the swing man is nursing a hamstring issue. Rodney McGruder started in the second half. In 16 minutes of action, George had 12 points, three rebounds, and three assists.

While the Clippers have been performing really well this year, George has had his fair share of struggles. He's averaging 23.6 points, 6.2 rebounds, and 3.8 assists per game. However, he's shooting just 42.0 percent from the field.

In Tuesday's win over the Sacramento Kings, George shot just 6-of-25 from the field. In the game before, he was 6-of-20 and was 5-of-18 in their Christmas day win over the Los Angeles Lakers.

Per Andrew Grief of the Los Angeles Times, George believes that his injury may be the cause of this shooting slump. He admitted that he's been hesitant to go through contact.

“A lot of the plays I had last year before the injury started, was through contact and finishing through defenders,” said George, an MVP candidate a year ago in Oklahoma City before suffering injuries to both shoulders that required offseason surgery. “This year I’ve been shying away from the contact. So it’s just getting it through my head that I’m fine with the physicality.”

Now that George has identified the reason for his struggles, the next step is to find a solution for it. But first, he has to make sure that his hamstring injury isn't that serious.
