To recall, Alexander was the 11th overall pick by the Charlotte Hornets in the 2018 NBA Draft. He was traded on draft night to the Clippers and it is where he spent his stellar rookie campaign as he was selected into the All-Rookie Second Team. He was a promising rookie yet the Clippers had to move some pieces to acquire Paul George. So far, Alexander is having a great season averaging 20.4 points on 46.2 percent shooting in 35.2 minutes per game.

Gallinari, meanwhile, played two seasons with the Clippers. While he saw limited playing time due to various injuries, he nevertheless became one of the top offensive gunners of the team. Last year, Gallinari averaged a career-best, 19.8 points per game and  6.1 rebounds in 68 games.

It's a classy move by the Clippers. Danilo Gallinari and Shai Gilgeous-Alexander were key pieces in last year's surprising campaign. Though the team moved to another direction without the two players, they still value their contributions to the organization.
