It's been a tough season for Indianapolis Colts kicker Adam Vinatieri. His kicking form has been far from satisfactory, missing some important kicks that would have won the Colts a couple of important games. Since his poor outing against the Miami Dolphins, the team has begun looking for new kickers to possibly replace him. In fact, the team brought in four kickers for a tryout earlier in the week.

However, the future Hall of Famer is not afraid of getting cut from the team. He stated that he can only focus on what he can do on the field and convert all of the field goals that he can make.

Per Indianapolis Star's Jim Ayello:

“That’s way above my pay grade,” Vinatieri said Thursday while standing in front of his locker amid a sea of reporters. “I don’t think about that stuff. My only thing is to come in and check out the film, see what we can do better and move on.

“Obviously we’re all our own biggest critics. Anytime it’s not perfect, you want to make it perfect. But I don’t worry about the decisions that are being made that I can’t control one way or the other.”

Vinatieri also tried to reason out why he's not making the kicks that he could easily make, saying that timing could have an effect. However, he made clear at the end of the day that his focus is only on helping the team win as many football games as he can.

If he gets cut in the process, he's ready to accept that and move on.
