The Indianapolis Colts were forced to have Brian Hoyer step in at quarterback and he immediately etched his name into the record books. On Sunday, Hoyer became the fifth player in NFL history to throw a touchdown pass with seven different teams.

Over the course of his 11-year career, Hoyer has played for seven different teams in the NFL. In Week 9, Hoyer made his debut with the Colts after Jacoby Brissett left the game early with a knee injury.

On his first pass of the game against the Pittsburgh Steelers, the veteran signal-caller was able to connect with Jack Doyle for an 11-yard touchdown. With the touchdown, he joins Vinny Testaverde, Chris Chandler, Gus Frerotte, and Ryan Fitzpatrick as the only quarterbacks to throw a touchdown in seven different uniforms.

Of course, Fitzpatrick and Hoyer are the only two quarterbacks in that group who are still in the NFL. Fitzpatrick is currently the starting quarterback for the Miami Dolphins.

As for Hoyer, he has spent the majority of his career as a backup for multiple teams. Above all, Hoyer spent five seasons as Tom Brady's backup with the New England Patriots.

The journeyman quarterback has started in only 37 games in his career and may need to do so for the Colts. In his 11 seasons in the NFL, Hoyer has totaled 10,070 yards, 51 touchdowns, and 31 interceptions.

The one interception that Hoyer threw on Sunday turned into a touchdown for the Steelers. Nevertheless, Hoyer will be able to look back on his career and say that he did something that only four other players did.
