With the NFL coaching carousel coming to a close, it seems the Indianapolis Colts have finally found a new defensive coordinator to replace Matt Eberflus. After an extensive interview process, the front office has finally made their decision and it looks like Gus Bradley is the man for the job.

According to Adam Schefter, the Colts have officially hired Gus Bradley. The former head coach of the Jacksonville Jaguars has been a defensive coordinator since 2017. He continues that stint with Indianapolis and has a solid roster at his disposal.

The Colts defense was a solid group under Matt Eberflus so Bradley shouldn't have a hard time leading this squad. Considering the Jaguars and Houston Texans are complete dumpster fires right now, Indianapolis has a shot at competing for the AFC South Championship next year against the Tennessee Titans. Hiring Gus Bradley gives this defense a seasoned coach who should keep them competitive.

We watched Maxx Crosby go bonkers under Bradley throughout this season, so the Colts' defense line should be thrilled with this hire. Indianapolis has one of the better front sevens in the league, making this an excellent pairing. We'll see how it all plays out, but don't be shocked if this defense potentially improves their sack rate next season.

It's been a while since we've seen the Colts be a dominant team in the NFL, but they're getting closer to becoming a legitimate threat in the AFC. The defense is stout while the offense has a few question marks. If the front office can find a way to improve the offensive attack, Indianapolis will be trouble for their opponents sooner, rather than later.
