The Indianapolis Colts' late-season collapse called quarterback Carson Wentz' future into question. Wentz, of course, was only just traded for last offseason, though the front office seemed to place the blame for the franchise's lackluster results squarely in the lap of the quarterback, perhaps hinting at possible change of scenery for both parties. Colts star running back Jonathan Taylor offered a bold take on Wentz amid trade speculation.
Jonathan Taylor on SiriusXM NFL Radio: “I’m assuming that (Carson Wentz) is going to be back because I love him in the locker room, I love him on the field.”

These are strong words from Jonathan Taylor on Colts quarterback Carson Wentz. Taylor didn't say for sure that his quarterback would be back next year, but the star halfback “is assuming” he'll be, despite the trade speculation that ensued.
Taylor said he “loves Wentz in the locker room and on the field”, a strong endorsement of the former Philadelphia Eagles quarterback. The star halfback makes some good points about Wentz' ability to extend plays, a trait that is becoming more and more valuable in the modern-day quarterback.
The fact that Taylor, one of the younger leaders in the Colts locker room, is this confident in speaking out about his praise of Wentz shows that he may not be the only one in the locker room singing the quarterback's praises.
As disappointing as the end to the Colts season was, Carson Wentz seems to have the backing of the players in the locker room, which will be a huge factor in any decision Indy makes on his future.
