The Indianapolis Colts struggled mightily in their 6-0 loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars on Sunday, and as a result, may find themselves in serious trouble when it comes to securing a playoff spot.
Andrew Luck and the Colts had their most lackluster performance of the season against a Jacksonville team that was in a downward spiral after losing seven straight games, which resulted in a surprising result for both sides.
The loss may come back to hurt the Colts, with the analytics suggesting that their playoff hopes have been completely shattered.
From Seth Walder of ESPN Analytics:
The Colts entered the day with a 41% chance to reach the playoffs. But after they lost to the Jaguars and the Ravens and Texans won, the Colts' shot at the postseason is down to 16%, according to live projections from FPI.
Baltimore went to Atlanta and scored a 26-16 win over the Falcons this weekend while Houston earned their ninth win in a row with a 29-13 victory over the Browns.
Now, with the Ravens at 7-5 and Texans leading the AFC South at 9-3, the Colts' chances seem rather slim.
The Jacksonville loss was the first time Luck has been shut out, and the Colts just couldn't find a rhythm on offense after seemingly finding their way during a five-game winning streak.
Indianapolis must re-focus quickly, as Frank Reich's Colts' squad will head to Reliant Stadium next Sunday for a showdown with the Texans.
After that, the Colts will finish up the season with games against the Dallas Cowboys, New York Giants, and Tennessee Titans.
