It has been a rough week for the Indianapolis Colts with Carson Wentz and Quenton Nelson undergoing the same foot surgery. The timetable for recovery from this foot surgery is 5-12 weeks, but Nelson is vowing to work as hard as he can to smash his goals and be ready for Week 1.

Nelson took to Instagram after going under the knife with a message to the Colts faithful:

Three surgeries in one offseason is brutal, but this latest setback isn't going to ruin Nelson's outlook on the upcoming season. He's already raring to get back to work in order to be ready for that first regular-season game against the Seattle Seahawks on Sept. 12.

Whether Nelson is actually successful or not remains to be seen. The All-Pro guard hasn't missed a game in his three-year NFL career to date, starting in all 48 contests in the regular season plus three playoff games since becoming the sixth overall pick in the 2018 NFL Draft.

There's likely more concern over Wentz given his injury history. The Colts acquired Wentz from the Philadelphia Eagles this offseason after the quarterback's disastrous 2020 campaign. Indy is hoping for a bounce-back year, but it's not off to a good start. Wentz was brought in to replace Philip Rivers after his retirement.
